Loop and Slow Down YouTube Videos in Patreon Posts
Paste a LoopTube link into a Patreon post and patrons get a YouTube player they can loop and slow down, with your sections and tempo already set. Free, no plugin.
Updated October 2026
LoopTube (looptube.xyz) puts a loopable, slow-downable YouTube player inside a Patreon post: paste a LoopTube link into Patreon's embed field and patrons can loop any section and slow it to 25–200% speed without leaving the post.
Patreon is where a lot of music teachers share lessons, but a plain YouTube embed only plays from start to finish. Patrons end up dragging the progress bar back to the same eight bars again and again.
With LoopTube you set the loop, the sections and the starting tempo once. The Patreon post then shows that player, ready to practise with. LoopTube is a registered Embedly provider, the service Patreon uses to turn links into players, so there is nothing to install.
How to do it
- Make the loop on LoopTube. Open the section builder at looptube.xyz/create, add the lesson video, mark the passages patrons should practise (verse, chorus, solo) and set the tempo they should start at. Copy the student link.
- Paste the link into your Patreon post. In the Patreon post editor, add the link with the embed option (Patreon's "Embed URL" field). Patreon fetches the LoopTube player and shows it in the post.
- Publish. Patrons press Play, pick a section and use the tempo control to slow it down. The loop and sections you set are already in place.
What your readers will see
This is a live LoopTube player with three named sections. Press Play, pick a section and try the tempo control.
Tips for teachers
Name your sections after what the student practises ("Intro riff", "Bars 9–16", "Solo, first half"). The names appear as buttons in the player.
Set a slower starting tempo (for example 75%) for harder passages. Patrons can still raise it to full speed.
One player per technique keeps posts focused. A multi-section link works well for a whole song.
Questions
How do I embed a YouTube video in Patreon that patrons can loop and slow down?
Make the loop on LoopTube (looptube.xyz), copy the link and paste it into the Embed URL field of your Patreon post. Patreon shows the LoopTube player, where patrons can loop any section and slow it from 25% to 200% speed without the pitch changing.
Do my patrons need a LoopTube account?
No. The player works for everyone who can see the post, with no sign-up and no install.
Can I embed an unlisted YouTube video?
Yes, as long as embedding is allowed for the video in YouTube Studio. Note that the LoopTube link itself can be opened by anyone who has it, the same as an unlisted YouTube link.
Is it free?
Yes. Embedding LoopTube players is free and needs no API key.
Play didn't start on the first tap. What do I do?
Tap the video itself once and playback starts. Some browsers block a player nested inside another embed from starting until it has been tapped directly; we are working with Embedly on it.
